3rd Mushroom Festival in Sinies

CORFU. For the 3rd year running Sinies Educational & Cultural Society is organizing a Mushroom Festival on Saturday 17 November.
- Collecting and identifying mushrooms
- Truffle hunting with dogs
- 9km run in collaboration with Kassio Dia
- Talk "Identifying Greece's Mushrooms" with author Giorgos Konstantinidis, President of the Greek Mushroom Lovers Society
Programme:
12:15 - Meet at Agios Stefanos Sinies (Efkaliptos Taverna) for an outing in the Erimitis area to find mushrooms under the guidance of Giorgos Konstantinidis and Dinos Thanasis (President Epirus Mushroom Lovers Society).
There will also be truffle hunting with truffle hunting dogs led by Nakos Riganatos - you need to have a basket and a knife.
15:00 - Start of 9km run on the 'Mushroom Trail' in collaboration with Kassio Dia. Starting point will be Agios Stefanos Sinies and the run will go along the paths in Erimitis and finish up at Agios Stefanos.
16:00 - Demonstration of truffle hunting with truffle hunting dogs in Agios Stefanos.
17:00 - Talk from mushroom expert Giorgos Konstantinidis.
18:00 - Mushroom tasting with Chef Fotis Paraskevaidis - mushroom soup, grilled mushrooms and other mushroom delicacies prepared by the chef. This will be followed by a celebration with live music and food.
The event is supported by the Greek Mushroom Lovers Society and the Corfu Mushroom Lovers Society.

For those interested in taking part who do not live in Corfu there is accommodation available in the SInies area for 10€ per person per night (minimum 2 nights) without breakfast. We would like to request that individuals who are interested (apart from the Societies coming) let the Society President Ioannis Garnelis know by Sunday 4 November.
