2nd Corfu International Choir Festival & Competition



12 - 16 September

37 choirs and 1,500 singers from 20 countries 3 continents (Argentina, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Esthonia, Finland, Great Britain, Greece, Holland, Israel, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Thailand and Turkey) will be coming to Corfu - the musical island - for a celebration of choir music and will have the opportunity to exchange experiences, make friends and discover Corfu and its culture.

Apart from the competition, the Festival will also include free performances by all the choirs in various locations throughout the town.


Become a lifeguard for a day! With the Helenic Rescue Team



If you want to experience something different...If you want to see what it means to be a lifeguard...If you want to go on patrol with a lifeboat... Then 'Take Your Place' on one of the Hellenic Rescue Team's lifeboats and experience a rescue operation at sea!

From 10 to 16 September the Hellenic Rescue Team (EOD) is organizing the 'Take Your Place' project in Corfu, giving everyone the opportunity to take a free training trip and learn all about the EOD and the volunteer work it does at sea.

Exhibition 'The World of CERN' in the Municipal Theatre Foyer

The Art of Uzbekistan Carpets and Textiles at the Museum of Asian Art




The new permanent exhibition at the Museum of Asian Art ‘The Art of Central Asia’. The exhibits have been donated by Yiannis Sartzetakis and Ruth Dayton and include woven textiles, knitted textiles, clothing and jewels from 19^th century Central Asia.

Faros Zois (Lighthouse of Life) - Liston to be lit up in gold for all the children who have battled and are battling against cancer



For the 5th year running ΄Faros Zois΄ will be taking part in the worldwide campaign Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

On 14 & 15 September they will be at Pentofanero from 7pm for anyone who wishes to become a bone marrow donor.

6th Korission sand race



The 6th Korission Sand Race will take place at Issos Beach on Saturday 15 September at 17:00.

There will 7km and 1,200m races.

For primary and secondary school children the races will start at 17:30.

All participants will be given awards.

Registration: 1 hour before the start.

There will also be Beach Handball for boys and girls aged 6 to 16.
