Four people from Wirral have found a great way to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Nurses Deborah Smedley and Philomena Horan along with David Houghton and Mark Scott will be taking on the challenge of driving from England to Corfu in a Pikachu themed car.

The Dumball Challenge is now in its 10th year and the festival on wheels is a terrific driving challenge.

Four decorated old bangers will depart from Margate on 14 September on their way across Europe to Corfu.

The first stop will be Calais and then the team will cross the Alps, go to Venice and then drive through Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Albania before boarding a ferry on September 21 to their final destination Corfu, where there will be a big party at a surprise location.

David said: "All four of us are so excited about setting off on another Dumball adventure to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.

"We hope our little Pikachu car bought for £350 and painted by hand with foam ears and a wooden tail will make it all the way to Corfu via the Alps and Montenegro pass to really earn our sponsorship target of £4,000 to help teenagers and young adults and their families deal with the trauma of cancer."

The challenge has raised more than £850,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust so far and it is hoped that this year they can reach their £1 million target.
