August full moon at the Old Fortress

This year the area by the Latin Chapel in the Old Fortress has been chosen for the first time - to throw a different kind of light on the musical event under the full moon on Sunday 26 August at 21:00.

The first part of the programme will feature songs from Kynopiastes 'Yitonia' (Neighbourhood) Song and Dance group. For about one hour they will perform 15 songs on the themes of love, marriage, foreign lands, work, the sea, craziness and village fairs. The programme coordinator is Giorgos Anifantis and will be presented by Stefanos Poulimenos.

The evening will begin with 3 traditional folk songs from Ag. Mathaio Cultural Society Women's Choir.

The second part of the programme will feature Mediterranean songs. Corfu singers will perform Greek, Italian and Spanish works by composers such as Yiannidis, Plessas, Souyioul, Grec, Ernesto de Curtis, R. Falvo, C. Gardel, As. Piazzolla, Ch. Dumont, An. Vian and others.
