CORFU. The new project is the ΄Development of a network for the separate collection of bio-waste in Corfu Municipality΄.
Following a decision by the Regional Governor Theodoros Galiatsatos, the Ionian Islands Regional Administration has included a significant new project in the Ionian Islands Business Programme 2014-2020. The Environmental and Waste Management project for Corfu has a budget of just over 925,000 Euros.
The project - 'Development of a network for the separate collection of bio-waste in Corfu Municipality' - will develop a complete network for the temporary storage and collection of bio-waste: 1,800 home composting bins, 1,000 brown 660 litre bins, 3,800 10 litre bins for kitchen bio-waste (with a year's supply of bin bags) as well as 3 trucks for the collection of bio-waste.
The project will take 13 months to set up and is being co-funded by the Cohesion Fund of the EU and the Hellenic State.
