See the condition of Temploni Landfill (video)

When it was heard that the work crews were going to come back to work on the access to Lefkimmi landfill, the coordinators of the groups protesting against the waste from Temploni being brought to Lefkimmi held an emergency meeting on Friday night.

A protest rally will be held tonight at 19:00 at the junction on Eth. Lefkimmi Rd leading to the landfill.

Meanwhile, Temploni residents are planning to block access to the 3rd unit in the landfill facility so as that more waste cannot be dumped on the mountains of rubbish and earth already there.

There is also, of course, the problem of refuse collection and all of these factors have led to the piles of rubbish lying around the refuse bins - both in the town and the rest of the island.
