NEW YORK. Corfiots in New York are following the island΄s problem with rubbish with concern. Mayor Kostas Nikolouzos΄ recent visit to New York where he updated them on what was happening helped them understand but...
..with the insensitivity and neglect of the state along with lack of funds for the local authority they unanimously called for an immediate solution to the problem of waste.
Whatever the cost.
The lack of a quorum at yesterday's town council meeting, which would otherwise probably have decided on a solution, reflected badly on the absentees but is of little interest to the residents and visitors who want a clean environment without piles of rubbish.
New York Corfiots are following developments and want to see a clean island in a few weeks when they come to visit their homeland.
