CORFU. The 26-year tradition continued in the best possible way for the annual Holy Wednesday concert by the San Giacomo Municipal Choir and Thessaloniki State Orchestra.

The 'chemistry' between the Choir and Thessaloniki State Orchestra only required two rehearsals to enchant a full house at the Municipal Theatre. Locals and visitors, including strict Austrian critics, were mesmerized by the performance of works by Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Mavropoulos.

The choir and the orchestra received a standing ovation and the Municipal Organization for Culture, Sport and the Environment (DOPAP) honoured the choir conductor Antoni Ivanof and pianist Marilena Eloul. The conductor of the Thessaloniki State Orchestra, Michalis Economou, presented the award to Ivanof in honour of his 25 years with the choir and the President of DOPAP, Nikos Korakianitis, presented the award to Marilena Eloul in honour of her 30 years with the choir!
