CORFU. On Saturday 31st March Corfu Philharmonic Society will be putting on their traditional Easter concert. The programme begins with the Royal March by Richard Strauss, arranged by Richard Barrett.
This will be followed by the Overture from Verdi's opera 'Aroldo' arranged by Franco Cesarini. The band will then perform 'Hungarian Rhapsody No.2' By Franz Liszt and Ravel's 'Bolero' especially arranged for the Corfu Philharmonic Society by Spyros Prosoparis.
The next part of the programme has 'Spring Rites' by Spyros Prosoparis - a rhapsody for wind, percussion and piano based on the book 'Love in the War Years' by the Corfu author, Spyros Sigma. The concert will conclude with the fourth part of Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony, arranged by Kenneth Singleton.
