Burglaries and theft of coach in north Corfu – Young couple arrested
CORFU. The couple drove the coach wildly, causing damage to parked cars.
Police arrested a 28-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman yesterday morning (27th January) for a series of burglaries.
The couple were spotted by Traffic Police in Gouvia driving a tourist coach, which, according to North Corfu Police, had been stolen shortly before from a car park in Sidari.
From the investigation it appears that the couple were involved in four burglaries in north Corfu:
- - 3 healthcare shops in Sidari, from which goods to the value of 1,000 Euros were stolen (laptop, mobile phones etc.).
- - A small, private church in Agios Stefanos, Avliotes, from which money was taken.
They also caused damage to two parked cars.
Some of the stolen goods were found in the possession of the couple and were impounded and returned to their owners. The interrogation was carried out by the North Corfu Police and the couple will be taken to the Prosecutor’s Office.
