CORFU. 1 gold medal, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals

The participation of the Corfu teams in the Final of the Panhellenic STEM Competition 2026 concluded with highly positive results. The event took place on Sunday, April 26, at the HELEXPO Exhibition Centre in Maroussi, Attica.

Corfu made a strong showing in the grand final phase of the competition, with 12 teams participating from the 4th Junior High, the 14th Primary School, Corfu Robotiki, and APOLYTO. The pupils presented their projects, competed against teams from across Greece and abroad, and demonstrated that educational robotics, programming, and creative problem-solving now have a strong presence in Corfu’s schools and educational institutions.

The distinctions achieved by the Corfu teams were particularly significant. In the Junior High OPEN category, the team 4GYM from Corfu 4th Junior High School  achieved a high ranking with a score of 108.5 points and received the Silver Award, while the teams Tech4, Alitokagourakia, and Random Dudes Studio were awarded Bronze.

In the Primary School OPEN category (Grades 3–6), the team “The Teleporters” from Corfu Robotiki was placed 2nd in the final twelve and was awarded the Gold Award, marking one of the most important successes of the Corfu delegation. Additionally, Corfu teams received special distinctions such as awards for Programming, Collaboration, Confidence, Full Autonomous Operation, Model Creation, and Engineering Design.

The following teams received distinctions:

X.O.K.Y – 14th Primary School of Corfu, Special Award for Programming
Scratch NPK – Corfu Robotiki, Special Award for Programming
Scratch Team – Corfu Robotiki, Special Award for Confidence
Robotic Masters – Corfu Robotiki, Special Award for Collaboration
The Teleporters – Corfu Robotiki, Special Award for Full Autonomous Operation and Gold Award
Winners Team – Corfu Robotiki, Special Award for Model Creation
The Pharaoh's Engineers  – APOLYTO, Special Award for Engineering Design

This success is no coincidence. It is the result of systematic work, months of preparation, collaboration, and belief in the pupils’ abilities. The preparation and guidance of the teams that participated in the final were undertaken by the coaches:

Spyridon Kontis, for teams from the 14th Primary School, the 4th Junior High, and Corfu Robotiki
Nikolaos Kontos, for teams from Corfu Robotiki
Dimosthenis Rizos, for teams from the 14th Primary School
Dimitris Rozik, for teams from APOLYTO
Eleni Tilaveridou, for teams from Corfu Robotiki

Warm congratulations are due to all the pupils who participated, regardless of their ranking or distinction. Their presence in the final of a nationwide competition is, in itself, a great achievement. With creativity, perseverance, and team spirit, they proved that learning can become an experience of collaboration and inspiration.

Special mention should be made of Elena Vousolinou, Director of Corfu Secondary Education, who consistently and meaningfully supported the effort. With genuine interest, active presence, and participation, she stood by the teams—at the pupils’ workstations and during moments of both anxiety and joy—encouraging them with positive energy and confidence in their abilities.

This year’s final of the Panhellenic STEM Competition 2026 leaves Corfu with a strong message: when pupils are supported by inspiring educators, supportive parents, dedicated education professionals, and structures that foster creativity, they can stand with dignity, confidence, and success at a national level.

The Corfu delegation returned with awards, experiences, emotion, and, above all, the conviction that the future of STEM education on the island has already begun.
