“The Sea Wolves – Guardians of the Sea”: An initiative by Mar-Bella Collection in partnership with Mermaids Corfu
With a firm commitment to safeguarding Corfu’s natural heritage, the Mar-Bella Collection hotel group announces the launch of the experiential workshop “The Sea Wolves – Guardians of the Sea.

The initiative will be held on Saturday, May 23 at Agios Ioannis Peristeron Beach, in collaboration with the volunteer group Mermaids In Action, and represents a core effort by the Group to engage younger audiences on the importance of marine biodiversity.

The activity invites young participants on an exciting mission of exploration and care for the marine ecosystem. Through activities, role-playing games, and creative storytelling, children will discover the vastness of the sea, understand the importance of marine biodiversity, and become aware of the threats facing marine organisms, taking an active role in their protection.
Event Schedule:
Location: Agios Ioannis Peristeron Beach
11:00 – Welcome: Reception of guests
11:30 – Children’s Workshop: An interactive workshop where children will meet “Mermaid Corfu” and explore the magical world of the underwater realm.
11:45 – Symbolic Beach Clean-Up: An experiential activity where children and adults actively participate in cleaning the beach, learning the importance of personal responsibility.
12:20 – Surprise Visit: Appearance of mermaids highlighting the impact of pollution on their “home,” the marine environment, and marine life through an educational game.

The workshop “The Sea Wolves – Guardians of the Sea” is an environmental education experience that combines knowledge with play, fostering in children love, respect, and responsibility towards nature. The event is open to the public and participation is free of charge, as the aim of Mar-Bella Collection is to raise awareness among the local community and visitors to the island.
“At Mar-Bella Collection, our commitment to sustainability includes the active protection of the marine environment,” says Anastasia Psarra, Corporate Communications & ESG Manager at Mar-Bella Collection. “Creating a positive impact in the destinations where we operate is a key priority for us, with inspiring and raising awareness among the younger generation being one of the most important aspects of this effort.”
“We are particularly pleased that a group like Mar-Bella Collection, for the second consecutive year, is committed as a local business to protecting Corfu’s valuable marine wealth,” adds Sophia Michalopoulou, founder of Mermaids Corfu.
“When we are able to see the place where we live from a different perspective, such as that of Mermaids Corfu, perhaps we can become more deeply aware and take better care of its beauty—so that future generations may also experience the magical world of the seabed.”
“You… see it.”
“Together we can change the tide.”
In case of bad weather, the event will be moved to Sunday, May 24. If adverse weather conditions persist, a new date will be announced.
