CORFU. For reasons that are still unknown, he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road.

A 67-year-old foreign national, a permanent resident of the area, had a narrow escape on Thursday morning when the car he was driving veered off course and ended up in a ravine.

The accident occurred at the entrance to the village of Karousades while the driver was coming from Sidari. For reasons that remain unknown so far, the 67-year-old lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the road.

An ambulance from Ionian Care rushed to the scene and transported the injured man to the medical centre. There, he was given first aid and underwent the necessary examinations.

Despite the seriousness of the incident, the man was fortunate and sustained only minor injuries. He remained at the medical centre for about two hours as a precaution, and after it was confirmed that his health condition was not a cause for concern, he was discharged.
