Educational event "America 250: Celebrating the 250th Anniversary of American Independence through English Language Teaching"

On the occasion of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America, a special educational event is being organised in Corfu under the title “America 250: Celebrating the 250th Anniversary of American Independence through English Language Teaching.”

The event will take place on Friday, September 5, from 12:00 to 14:00, at Corfu Central Library, in the American Space.

The activity is mainly addressed to teachers of English language and culture, but also to anyone interested in learning more about the historical connections between the American and Greek Revolutions.

As part of the event, there will be a workshop highlighting the links between the American Revolution and the Declaration of Independence with the Greek Revolution of 1821 — whose 200th anniversary was celebrated in 2021. Special emphasis will be given to the influence that the American Revolution had on the course and ideological formation of the Greek struggle for independence.
