Philippos Pliatsikas in concert on 11th December
CORFU. "Thus concludes the cycle of a profound musical love for a great and universally inclusive musical world, created by an artist whose songs have become part of our lives."
On the occasion of the release of the album “We Will Bloom Again”, Philippos Pliatsikas will embark on a tour across Greece and Cyprus, a journey revisiting songs spanning three decades. “The Prince of the Western Bank”, one of the most influential stories in the Greek music scene, features songs that have remained timeless. His journey will also bring him to Corfu on Wednesday, December 11.
It was January 1995 when Manos Xydous convinced Philippos Pliatsikas to step up to the microphone and sing. As Pliatsikas himself has revealed, "until then, whenever I saw a microphone, I stayed 15 metres away." A year later, his first major hit with his voice came with the song “Old Loves Go to Heaven”, as Mára Vamvounaki, who wrote the lyrics, insisted that Philippos sing it. This song marked his debut as a performer, enriching the soundtrack of our lives for the past three decades.
Songs like “If I Could Change the World,” “All my Loneliness,” “Who Has a Say in Love,” “City of Snow,” “Dedicated,” “You Know Me Best,” “To Tell the Truth,” “You Stopped Reminding Me of Love,” and many more have been beloved, whether performed with Pyx Lax or as part of his solo discography. This concert celebrates Philippos Pliatsikas' music, featuring his songs that have marked every phase of our lives over the past 30 years.
So many moments and so many memories… Thus concludes the cycle of a deep musical love for a great and universally inclusive musical world, created by an artist whose songs have become part of our lives.
