Photography Exhibition at Municipal Art Gallery – 28mm Group / “My Town”

The Municipal Art Gallery of Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands presents the photography exhibition “My Town” by the 28mm Group.

The exhibition seeks to present a human topography of Corfu through the eyes of its own residents. The photographs capture moments, people, relationships and small stories from everyday life, highlighting aspects that often go unnoticed but fundamentally shape the way we coexist and understand one another.

The town is presented not merely as a place, but—above all—as a space inhabited by people and stories. Everyday movement, proximity and distance, encounters and silences, familiar images and unexpected moments come together to form a mosaic of contemporary Corfiot life.

28mm Group

The 28mm photography group was formed in Corfu in 2024, with a shared interest in exploring the narrative possibilities generated by the everyday life of the town.

Through street photography, the members of the group approach their shared surroundings from different perspectives and through personal narratives. Documentary photography, observation and artistic abstraction coexist, allowing photography to move beyond simple representation and become a personal interpretation of reality.
