A state of emergency has been declared in the whole of Corfu now
CORFU. Following the central municipality, a state of emergency has also been declared in the other two municipalities by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
A state of emergency has been declared in the municipalities of North and South Corfu by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection to address the emergency needs and manage the consequences of the water shortage. The state of emergency will remain in effect until 18/12.
The decision regarding the Municipality of North Corfu states:
"Declaration of a Civil Protection Emergency for the Municipality of North Corfu in the Corfu Regional Unit, Ionian Islands, for the immediate response to the emergency needs and management of the consequences that may arise in the aforementioned areas due to the occurrence of water shortage phenomena. This declaration will be effective from the date of issuance of this document and for one month, i.e., until 18 December 2024. After the designated period, without a new document, the state of Civil Protection Emergency will be lifted."
The decision regarding the Municipality of South Corfu states:
"Declaration of a Civil Protection Emergency for the districts of Lefkimmi and Korission in the Municipality of South Corfu in the Corfu Regional Unit, Ionian Islands, for the immediate response to the emergency needs and management of the consequences that may arise in the aforementioned areas due to the occurrence of water shortage phenomena. This declaration will be effective from the date of issuance of this document and for one month, i.e., until 18 December 2024. After the designated period, without a new document, the state of Civil Protection Emergency will be lifted."
