Ambulance Service staff furious with Aggelos Spyrou΄s statements
CORFU. "If you want to become an MP Mr. Spyrou, you have to work with zeal to save the National Health System and the EKAB and stop the dealings with private individuals".
The initiative of the candidate ND MP Aggelos Spyrou and his statement on the free provision of private sector assistance in Corfu caused strong reactions from the Panhellenic Federation of EKAB Personnel.
In its statement, the Panhellenic Federation of EKAB Personnel called Mr. Spyrou's moves "dealings" and stressed that he should show his interest by working for the rescue of the National Health System and the EKAB.
Statement from the Federation:
Of course, Mr. Spyrou, the close cooperation between doctors and private prevention and diagnostic centres is well known. And it is certainly not free.
So if you, Mr. candidate MP, were really concerned about the health of the people of your Region, you would make sure that you would pressure the government to stop attacking the National Health System and its people, who have been pulling chestnuts out of the fire for years now for every government that devalues it and takes away its qualified and experienced staff.
The Greek people is familiar with this process - they take away piece by piece every public service that offers valuable services to the Greek people, they devalue it, reduce its budget systematically, impoverish its employees and then private individuals come to its rescue.
So if you want to become an MP Mr. Spyrou, you have to work with zeal to save the National Health System and the EKAB and demand from the government to make temporary staff permanent, the recruitment of permanent staff, an increase in EKAB's budget and stop dealings with private individuals.
We know exactly where all this leads to - the destruction of the public health system! Those citizens who have a few euros left are forced to spend it and the rest are driven to despair.
Hands off the ambulance service!
