EODY: 177 new cases of coronavirus in Greece today - 1 in Corfu

ATHENS. EODY announced 177 new confirmed cases on Saturday 29 August, of which 20 were detected at entry points - 36 patients intubated - 1 death.

EODY announced 177 new cases in the country today. Of the 156 domestic cases, 12 were connected to recent travel in Greece, 21 were connected with known cases and 18 were connected to known clusters.

The total number of cases in Greece is now 9,977, of which 55.6% are males. 2,033 (20.4%) of the cases are connected to arrivals from abroad and 4,402 (44.1%) are from contacts with known cases.

36 patients - 11 female, 25 male - are intubated in ICUs. The average age is 68 and 47.2% have underlying health conditions or are over 70. 148 patients have been discharged from ICUs

There was 1 death today taking the total number of fatalities to 260. 92 (35.4%) were females and the average age was 77. 93.8% had underlying health conditions or were over 70.
