ATHENS. Government spokesperson Stelios Petsas announced the PM΄s decision.
On Monday 5 October Government spokesperson Stelios Petsas announced the Greek PM's decision that due to the novel coronavirus pandemic there will be no school and armed forces parades for 28 October this year.
Mr. Petsas said that Greece continues to perform much better than a lot of other European countries in its handling of the spread of the virus. Nevertheless, he warned, "vigilance - not complacency" is required as "things can change dramatically very easily".
He added that, "cases in care homes and workplaces, where spread of the infection can increase rapidly, demonstrate even more clearly the importance of personal responsibility, observance of the protocols and strict adherence to the Government measures recommended by the experts".
"This is the only way in which we can avoid stricter restrictive measures and the worsening of the situation." He stressed that, "We need to contain and reduce the number of cases and intubated patients."
