Fire in Perithia last night

CORFU. Fire broke out in Portes Vasilika in Perithia at around 8pm on Friday night.
The Fire Department responded immediately and sent 7 fire engines and 20 firefighters who were able to get the fire under control by around 11pm.
The firefighters' work was made more difficult by the strong winds in the area and the following also went to the scene - North Corfu Mayor Giorgos Mahimaris, Deputy Mayors Fanis Skembris, Nikos Mouzakitis and Spyridoula Kokkali, village president Mr. Kassaris and local councillor Maria Boletsi. The firefighters were assisted by the Hellenic Rescue Team and the Hunting Association.
