CORFU. 52-year-old hospitalised at Corfu Hospital following surgery.
A British man is in hospital following an accident in the sea near Ipsos yesterday evening. The 52-year-old and a woman were on a hired boat which ran onto the rocky seabed.
When the man went into the water to try and get the boat off the rocks he was injured in the legs by the propeller.
The Coastguard came to the scene and he was taken by ambulance to Corfu Hospital where surgery was carried out and he now remains hospitalised.
Corfu Port Authority is conducting an investigation and the vessel has been prohibited from sailing until the Local Inspection Team has certified that any damage has been repaired.
