Corfu: Hotels and travel agents recommend flexible cancellation policies

CORFU. The Hoteliers΄ Association and the new board of the Association of Corfu Travel Agents (AOCTA) met this morning.
They discussed the upcoming tourist season with emphasis on the issue of coronavirus.
Both sides agreed with and adopted the recommendations of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE) regarding the limitation of the consequences of the spread of coronavirus on Corfu tourism.
All tourist businesses are requested to strictly follow the guidelines from the National Public Health Organisation EODY).
Flexible cancellation policies are recommended for tourist accommodation in collaboration with travel agents where necessary. For bookings up to 31 May, 2020 flexible cancellation policies for individuals and groups are recommended as follows:
- Seasonal resorts: No charge for cancellations up to 7 days before arrival and deposits to be refunded.
- All-year urban accommodation properties: No charge for cancellations up to 24 hours before arrival and deposits to be refunded.
- All-year accommodation properties in mountain and semi-mountain areas: No charge for cancellations up to 48 hours before arrival and deposits to be refunded.
It is recommended that the above cancellation policies also apply to bookings already made - with no charge for cancellations.
Travel agents will implement whatever cancellation policy is adopted by the tourist properties.
