New ramped section for Special Needs in San Rocco

CORFU. A new ramped section was made available in San Rocco Square as part of Corfu Town΄s efforts to be accessible to all.

The Deputy Mayors for Social Welfare and Technical Works Andreas Skoupouras and Nikos Kalogeros were present along with the President of the Regional Special Needs Association Giorgos Spanos.



Nikos Kalogeros said that preparations had begun with the previous local authority and the aim is for those with special needs to be able to move from the port to the urban bus station. He added that a large percentage of the budget for technical works in 2020 has been earmarked for more such works.



Andreas Skoupouras said that it is one of the most important things that have been done in Corfu for those with special needs. He stated that the aim is to make Corfu Town one of the most accessible in Greece and that these facilities will be included in maps and following that will be connected to smart devices.

The President of the Regional Special Needs Association Giorgos Spanos praised the work done by the two Deputy Mayors and added that the hope of those with special needs in Corfu was for it to become a friendly town for them.
