Corfu cuisine travelling to Europe

CORFU. Corfu producers and members of the Organizing Committee have been invited to a meeting to discuss details.

The successful Corfu Food and Wine Festival in May, co-organized by Corfu Municipality and local organizations, made a strong impression on those involved and has opened the way for new projects. Following the Russian Gastronomy Week in Corfu, organized by the International Center for Wine & Gastronomy in Ocotober, another two important partners from the Corfu Food & Wine Festival have made proposals to promote Corfu cuisine in Europe.

The Greek National Tourism Organisation has invited the Festival and Corfu Chefs' Club to promote the island's rich gastronomy at the Vakantiebeurs Tourism Fair in Utrecht in January and the Marco Polo System GEIE has invited them to a Festival in Venice in February. In both cases local products which can be exported will be exhibited as one of the aims of the Festival is to promote local products abroad.

Corfu Municipality is calling on all Corfu producers and organizations which took part in the Festival Organizing Committee to a meeting on Wednesday 28 November at 11:00 at the Faliraki Conference Centre to discuss details.
