Missing Avliotes man found dead

CORFU. The search for Damianos Kostas Mouzakitis had been going on since 23 November when he disappeared.
The body of 82-year-old Damianos Kostas Mouzakitis from Avliotes, who had been missing since 23 November, was found this morning.
His body was found by North Corfu Civil Protection Service and Thinalia firefighters in rough terrain in Koukounikades near Avliotes.
According to available information, he had tried to cross a stream with wild vegetation and had fallen in.
Since the day he was reported missing police, firefighters, North Corfu Civil Protection Service, Corfu Rescue Team (EMED), volunteers and specially-trained dogs from the Special Disaster Response Unit (EMAK) had been searching for him.
The body will be taken to Corfu Hospital for an autopsy and an investigation will be conducted by North Corfu police.
