Camerata concert to be held at Municipal Theatre due to reactions

CORFU. Following the reaction caused by the initial planning to hold the concert in the Throne Hall of the Church of St. George and St. Michael.
A truly great artistic event, one that the people of Corfu do not often have the opportunity to enjoy, provoked once again a reaction from the citizens regarding the organisation of the Corfu International Festival.
Thus, the concert of the Camerata of the Scala di Milano, which was to be held on Friday 14 in the Throne Hall of the Church of St. George and St. Michael, will now be held at the Municipal Theatre.
Tickets are sold out
Since early Wednesday afternoon, when the ticket booking platform opened, the first reactions started via social media. Those who tried to book tickets a few minutes later were unable to do so as they received a notification that tickets were sold out.
According to information, the limited - only 50 - seats of the hall had been reserved in advance for the island's municipal councillors and MPs.
Needless to say, the limited seats were sold out in advance, even before the simple Corfu people were given the opportunity to enjoy a remarkable artistic event. Many described the concert as "private" - apparently they were not too wrong.
The only way
The Municipal Department of Culture reconsidered the initial decision and finally decided to hold the concert at the Municipal Theatre, which was not simple. That's because on the same day and at the same time the rehearsal of the concert of the Philharmonic Band with the Corfu Choir would take place, which was extremely difficult to postpone last minute.
Sources say that discussions began early Thursday morning to find a solution, which would, however, change the planning of the Choir and the Philharmonic Band.
With the Choir being very upset by the last minute changes, the solution found was to have their rehearsal earlier, until 19:30, and then the Camerata concert would be held.
