Why there is no summer camp on Vidos again this year

CORFU. It has been almost a decade that the local authorities are unable to meet the requirements for the summer camp to open - The Municipality΄s statement.
Statement from Central Corfu Municipality:
All the responsible municipal services have cleaned up the island and repaired and maintained the camp's infrastructure, while a fire safety certificate has been issued for the first time. Even though all the required procedures for the recruitment of staff were carried out in time and despite the fact that positions have been advertised repeatedly for all the staff required by law, no interest was shown by doctors and nurses - positions that are necessary for the operation of the summer camp.
It is worth noting that when searching for the doctor and nurses, even the Mayor herself proceeded to a survey with the responsible bodies pointing out how important it was, but again there was no expression of interest. As a result, it is not possible to open the summer camp as the legal requirements are not met and the municipal authority does not intend to put the children's life at risk.
In any case, the Central Corfu Municipality is calling on those interested to participate in the programme of creative activities.
