CORFU. The North Corfu Municipality said that the damage to the water supply network is being done deliberately and recorded the findings of DIADEYAK.
The North Corfu Municipality said that incidents of serious sabotage to DIADEYADK’s property have occurred in central pumping stations and tanks in several areas.
According to a statement, sabotage is causing problems in the local community - especially now that we are in the middle of the summer season. On the one hand, they completely cut the water supply in large areas of the Municipality, and on the other hand, in many cases it takes a long time to repair or locate the damage.
In particular, the following problems have been recorded:
1. At the main pumping station of the Horoepiskopi village, which supplies the whole area of Ag. Georgios Pagon, the general fuses of the main control panel were found to be down and the main valves were turned off.
2. At the main pumping station supplying Dafni and Ag. Georgios Pagon, the general fuses of the main control panel were found down and the main valve was breached.
3. In Kassiopi, the control valves of the water supply networks are being breached daily in almost all tanks and main networks, resulting in the lack of smooth distribution of water.
4.The main water pipe supplying Gousades was found cut and folded so that the leak would not be noticeable.
5. In Kavvadades, valves that have been adjusted by DEYAK crews to ensure the smooth distribution of water to all areas have also been breached.
DIADEYAK employees in North Corfu are making great efforts to repair the damage and restore the water supply.
The North Corfu Municipality condemns any act of sabotage that creates serious problems in the daily lives of residents and visitors.
It also assures that the necessary actions will be taken to protect the Municipality's property and the rights of citizens served by the water supply network, as well as to protect the Municipality institutionally.
The sabotage to DIADEYADK's facilities by unknown people in order to disrupt daily life is the greatest threat to both public health and the uninterrupted water supply to citizens and it is punishable.
