CORFU. An elderly couple΄s electricity bill was €30 and the Adjustment Clause was €1,720!
Two appeals for a temporary order not to cut off electricity were accepted by Corfu Court of the First Instance and the Magistrate Court - one from a pensioner and the other from an elderly couple. The temporary orders will remain in place until the court has come to a decision on their appeals against the Adjustment Clause.
According to Theodoros Kardamis, lawyer for the couple who lodged the appeal at the Magistrate Court, their last electricity bill was €30, but the Adjustment Clause was €1,720.
