Euroferry Olympia in Astakos Bay - precious time lost say relatives

CORFU. The Euroferry Olympia has now been moored in Astakos Port in Aitoloakarnania.
The ship, which caught fire on Friday morning, reached Astakos after being towed for about 24 hours from the straits to the northeast of Corfu.
At Astakos the search for the 10, at least, missing persons will be able to continue in safety as will the efforts to determine where the fire began. The burnt-out lorries will be removed from the ship whilst firefighters and the Special Disaster Response Unit (EMAK) continue their search.
Relatives of the missing persons are there and are saying that precious time has been lost by towing the ship. They are being provided with psychological support and the Ministry of Shipping is taking care of their accommodation.
