Technological improvements in schools by Central Corfu Municipal School Committee

CORFU. Schools to get internet, computers, projectors and screens.

Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipal School Committee are upgrading technological equipment in secondary schools to support all types of teaching programmes.

Technological and audiovisual equipment is already being installed in all classes at Skripero and Liapades Schools as well as the Music Junior High.



The School Committee is installing computers, speakers, projectors and whiteboards in all the classes at the aforementioned schools. Internet cables have already been installed. At the Music Junior High School, for example, 12 classrooms have been equipped with laptop and desktop computers and speakers as well as projectors and TVs.



Committee President Kostas Kostalis said that the installation of equipment that has begun for the first time in the municipal districts and will continue in Corfu Town "will allow teachers to give lessons with modern and efficient methods and pupils to finally enjoy modern learning. This project is providing a significant improvement our schools and we would like to thanks Mayor Meropi Ydraiou for initiating it. From now on, school classes will have the means to support modern educational practices. Internet in every classroom, ceiling projectors and desktop computers with speakers create a modern learning environment. We are moving forward for the sake of our children."



It is planned, from next week, to install similar equipment at the secondary schools in Kastellani and Agios Ioannis.

In addition to the above, wired internet has already been installed at Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands secondary schools, old lightbulbs have been replaced with new LED lights and improvement work has begun on sports grounds and schoolyards at junior high and high schools.
