North and South Corfu Municipalities to receive €1m each from ΄Antonis Tritsis΄ Programme

CORFU. Letter of thanks from the Mayors.
The Mayors of North and South Corfu were happy to announce the positive response to their request to be included in the 'Antonis Tritsis' programme with each Municipality to receive €1m funding to carry out studies and draw up plans.
The Mayors issued the following letter of thanks:
"The Mayors of South and North Corfu Kostas Lessis and Giorgos Mahimaris would like to give warm thanks to the Minister of the Interior Makis Voridis, Deputy Minister Stelios Petsas, General Secretary Michalis Stavrianoudakis, President of the Central Union of Greek Municipalities (KEDE) Dimitris Papastergiou and President of the Ionian Islands Regional Union of Municipalities (PEDIN) Alexandros Parisis for their active support of the 7 new Municipalities with funding from the 'Antonis Tritsis' Programme of €1m when other Municipalities have a spending cap of €500,000.
This came as a result of coordinated initial efforts by the South and North Corfu Mayors followed by the Mayors of Lixouri, Sami and Velventou, Western Lesvos and Western Samos.
It was based on the new Municipalities' need of support with funding tools so that they can carry out their development role for the benefit of the community.
