Temporary repair of road subsidence in Perama

CORFU. The Regional Authority has carried out initial repairs on the section of road in Perama that had subsided.
The crew placed large rocks and laid cement with a double layer of wire mesh as a first step in order to allow traffic to resume on this busy road.
Deputy Regional Governor for Corfu Melita Andrioti said, "Temporary but substantial repairs have been carried out on the subsidence that occured due to the chronic problems caused by underground water in the Perama area near the Aiolos Hotel.
Plans have already been made to completely repair the damage."
