CORFU. There were police checks in the Ionian Islands from 08:00 to 14:00 on Tuesday 12 January.
A total of 427 vehicles and 589 individuals were checked in Corfu, Cephalonia, Zakynthos and Lefkada with 12 arrests and a total of 81 violations.
These included the following:
- 14 for speeding
- 12 for driving without a licence
- 7 for not wearing helmets
- 2 for not wearing seat belts
- 3 for driving without insurance
Police checks will be continuing.
