€50k regional funding for rapid tests for hospitals and EODY mobile units

CORFU. The proposal from Deputy Regional Governor for Finance Katerina Mothonaio for the €50k funding was approved.

As part of its efforts to protect public health from the spread of coronavirus, the Ionian Islands Regional Council discussed the acquisition of Rapid Tests for SARS-CoV-2 to enable quick diagnoses in order to prevent the spread of the virus on the islands.

The Council meeting also discussed all the initiatives taken by the Regional Administration since the outbreak of the pandemic and other planned initiatives.

There has been a change in the legislative framework regarding the acquisition of Covid-19 tests and Regions can purchase the tests for approved users such as hospitals and EODY mobile units.

The proposal from Deputy Regional Governor for Finance Katerina Mothonaio for €50k funding for the acquisition of rapid tests was approved.

Ionian Islands Regional Governor Rodi Kratsa expressed her satisfaction with the decision: "We remain at the front line of the national effort against Covid-19 and we must all remain united in the fight and help face the crisis in an efficient and effective way."
