Attempted demolition of building at old fort in Agios Stefanos blocked

CORFU. Opponents of the NCH Capital investment in Erimitis asked for the demolition of an outbuilding at the old fort to stop as a court decision is still awaited.
Members of 'Erimitis Plus' and local authority representatives reacted to the presence of a bulldozer at the old fort in Agios Stefanos Kassiopi.
On Friday 19 June NCH Capital - the company in charge of the investment project in Erimitis - set about demolishing an outbuilding at the old fort. Members of 'Erimitis Plus', including the President Dimitris Fatiras, rushed to the scene along with representatives from the local authority, including Socrates Trifonas, leader of the 'Traverso Anapodo' party, and Theodoros Mavronas, Municipal Councillor in the Mayor's party.
According to 'Erimitis Plus', a decision is still being awaited from the Ioannina Appeals Court regarding the appeal made by the organisation to suspend demolition following the approval from Corfu Planning Department at the end of 2019.
