ATHENS. ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra put on a concert for the thousands of doctors and nurses who are tirelessly fighting the virus.
With all the necessary personal protection equipment, eight musicians from the ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra put on a small concert at Athens Evangelismos Hospital with works by Hadjidakis and Theodorakis.
It was the least the public TV company could do to thank the thousands of doctors and nurses who are tirelessly fighting the virus and to provide a 'note' of optimism for the patients hospitalised there.
The orchestra was conducted by Giorgos Aravidis and the following musicians took part: Stathis Laskaridis, Vassilis Dimos, Giorgos Konstantinidis, Nafsika Deve, Anastasios Grigoropoulos, Leonidas Grigiropoulos, Ariadne Polka and Aristidis Skliros.
They played much-loved works by the two great composers from the Greek Cinema including 'Ela Pare mou ti Lipi' and 'Epta Tragoudia na sou po' by Manos Hadjidakis and 'Aprilis', 'ou mikrou Voria' and 'Varka sto Yialo' by Mikis Theodorakis.
