Mayor and Municipal Council President expected at Courthouse to give statements

CORFU. Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Mayor Meropi Ydraiou is expected at the Courthouse today.
Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Mayor Meropi Ydraiou and Municipal Council President Dimitris Metallinos are expected at the Courthouse today to give statements. It is not yet known whether Archbishop Nektarios will also be appearing.
Charges have been brought against them for attending the Palm Sunday service behind closed doors at St. Spyridon church yesterday and also receiving Holy Communion. As could be seen from the broadcast on TV channels there were over 15 people present whereas the law states categorically that only essential personnel can be present at services along with TV and radio personnel for the broadcast. What happened yesterday was in violation of recent Ministerial orders and the decision of the Holy Synod.
Yesterday evening the Corfu Prosecutor brought charges against the three aforementioned people.
Further news is expected regarding the other people who were at church and received Holy Communion.
