Recruitment of doctor for Corfu Ambulance Service

CORFU. Corfu ND MP Stefanos Gikas posted on social media that this will be followed by the establishment of a South Corfu Ambulance Service - KINAL MP Dimitris Biangis had also received confirmation of this 1½ months ago.
The recruitment of a doctor for Corfu Ambulance Service after 5 years without was announced by Corfu ND MP Stefanos Gikas with a post on social media today, Thursday 9 April.
The MP said that this will be followed by the establishment a South Corfu Ambulance Service. He went on to thank the Minister of Health Vassilis Kikilias and the Ambulance Service President Nikos Papaefstathiou.
At the end of January Mr. Gikas had a working meeting with the Ambulance Service President Nikos Papaefthstathiou during which the establishment of a South Corfu Ambulance Service was discussed along with the addition of a motorcycle to the Corfu Ambulance Service, the provision of water ambulances for the Ionian Islands and, of course, the recruitment of auxiliary and permanent personnel.
Corfu MP Dimitris Biangis also received confirmation at the end of February.
A month after his meeting with Stefanos Gikas, the Ambulance Service President Nikos Papaefstathiou also confirmed to the Corfu KINAL MP Dimitris Biangis that a doctor would be recruited for Corfu Ambulance Service.
At that time, on 26 February, Mr. Papaefstathiou had shown a lot of interest in the problem of personnel for Corfu Ambulance Service and assured Dimitris Biangis of the recruitment of an auxiliary doctor for the Service, which will lead to the island having a mobile unit.
Following today's announcement, Dimitris Biangis said:
"A few days ago the recruitment procedure began for 10 (5 + 5) Corfu ambulance crew positions that need to be filled, which will be followed by the establishment of a South Corfu Ambulance Service. I was pleased to hear today that the procedure has started for the recruitment of an auxiliary doctor for Corfu Ambulance Service, which will lead to the operation once again of the island's mobile unit.
I would like to personally thank the Ambulance Service President Nikos Papaefstathiou for his concern and the interest shown both at our meetings and in the frequent telephone conversations we had as well as for putting his promises into practice."
