CORFU. Announcement from All Together for Corfu and Spyros Neratzis regarding the first 7 months of clothing and footwear recycling in Corfu and presentation of 25 €10 gift vouchers to the Red Cross Corfu branch.

The announcement:

"SEVEN MONTHS of clothing and footwear recycling"

"Completely in tune with the principles of the circular economy, we are supporting the recycling of clothing and footwear.

We are helping to extend product-life, save natural resources, recycle materials and the energy they contain.

The greatest benefits of these efforts is undoubtedly to the environment but there was another benefit today as well.

Today, as part of our social responsibility and in collaboration with the recycling company Recycom and Dimitra Market, we presented the Corfu branch of the Red Cross with 25 €10 gift vouchers to be distributed to those in need to use for shopping at Dimitra Market.

We would especially like to thank Vaggelis and Giorgos Arapis, owners of Recycom clothing & footwear recycling company, for their donation of the gift vouchers and their excellent collaboration.

We would also like to thank:

- The Corfu branch of the Hellenic Red Cross, President Maria Dimoula and Treasurer Nikos Moumouris for their assistance in collecting clothes and support for all our activities.
- The company Galaxias AE Dimitra Super Market and Purchase Director Kostas Stratigos for all their support.
- Finally, our thanks to all the volunteers who help us in all our efforts and members of the public who have demonstrated their respect for the environment by recycling.

The public's efforts have been amazing and the results can already be seen in the first seven months.

1. 16 tons of clothing didn't go to Temploni - to the benefit of the environment and the creation of a new recycling culture.

2. The Municipality saved on the expense of collecting and burying the aforementioned amount.

3. 250 Euros will be distributed to those in need, through the Red Cross, to help with some of their daily needs.

The project began in April 2019 and the results clearly show the public's awareness and culture."
