CORFU. All seamen in the Panhellenic Seamen΄s Federation (PNO) are on 24-hour strike on Wednesday 3 July.
Ferry owners had proposed a 2% increase in collective labour agreements from 1/6/2019 while seamen's unions have demanded the abolishment of the law regarding the reduction of crew numbers on ships in the Adriatic and an improvement in ferry boat crew numbers as, they point out, a 2013 law reduced hotel personnel by 50% in winter months.
The previous collective labour agreement from 1 January to 31 December 2018 included a 2% increase in monthly salaries for active officers and lower-level personnel on passenger ferry boats.
Corfu Seamen΄s Union ΄St. Spyridon΄ is taking part in the 24-hour PNO strike on Wednesday 3 July from 00:01 to 24:00.
The following ferry services will be available for emergencies.
06:00 - 12:00 Alkinoos
12:00 - 18:00 Eleni
18:00 - 24:00 Ano Hora II
