CORFU. For the third year running there was a clean-up of the Old Town.
Volunteers got down to work early this morning cleaning pavements and roads that were filthy with rubbish - especially the busier spots. Led by Spyros Nerantzis, they showed how the town we live in, which is visited by millions of tourists every year, should be kept clean. They stress that their work is not a substitute for that done by the Cleansing Services and the local authority but an example of volunteerism and an attempt to raise public awareness about keeping public areas clean.
