CORFU. The host of yesterday΄s tragic party at Ag. Yiannis has been arrested. He has been charged with involuntary manslaughter with recklessness in death of Eleni Spitieri-Panaretou and is being held on the charges of
The arrested man will be taken to the Prosecutor's office on Monday afternoon to face the charges.
According to police sources, things got carried away in the celebratory mood at the party held for the christening of the victim's grandchild. The gun was passed from hand to hand and fired in the air as often happens in some parts of Greece at these kind of celebrations.
According to witness reports, even Eleni herself fired some shots. The gun jammed while she was holding it and the host tried to fix it when it went off and fatally wounded her in the stomach.
The charges also include illegal possession and use of a weapon.
