CORFU. There are now three kidney specialists at Corfu General Hospital – two permanent and one auxiliary. The new permanent kidney specialist, the first appointment from the two positions that were advertised by the hospital, took up his duties yesterday 13th February.
The new kidney specialist will rebalance the critical situation we have been in over the last three years, claimed the Hospital Director, Phivos Kakavitsas, in his press release.

Appointment of permanent nephrologist at Corfu General Hospital.
The new permanent kidney specialist – the first appointment from the two positions that were advertised - took up his duties today 13th February.
Following this appointment, the critical situation we have found ourselves in over the last three years will be permanently rebalanced, since there are now three kidney specialists (2 permanent and 1 auxiliary). We would like to point out that there have not been 3 nephrologists working together at the Artificial Kidney Unit since 2010.
The completion of the recruitment procedure and the announcement of the Artificial Kidney Unit’s second Nephrology Director in the Greek Government Gazette by the Ministry of Health are expected shortly. The assessment was completed at the end of December 2017 by the Corfu General Hospital Assessment Committee.
