Funding approved for Corfu Old Town and Gym in North Corfu

CORFU.On Tuesday, the Municipal Council unanimously approved the funding of 480k Euros from Public Investment Program to draw up a town planning study for Corfu Old Town.
This study will reflect the existing urban situation and harmonize it with today’s UNESCO Heritage City in issues of town and traffic planning, land use and historical buildings. It should be highlighted that the existing town plan dates from 1958.
The Council also unanimously approved funding for the construction of an indoor gym in Thinalia. Plans had already been drawn up for this plot of land but had not proceeded and so are ready apart from the geotechnical studies, which will now be funded by the Public Investment Programme.
